Books glorious books, I can’t wait to read them.
While eating a doughnut, sipping on hot chocolate
Poems, prose and some mystery, what next is the question?
The mind boggles with questions, read a book they say glean from the unknown experience of others.
The body hates to sit still, I learn by doing, but after the last experience …
The mind subjects the body to read apprehending the known and the body subjects the mind to explore the unknown, perhaps someday a book shall detail the answers to my unknowns.
Written in response to Sonya’s three line tales.
I have done two entries for this as they both came to mind. Hope you like them, not sure the second really works.
Hi Chioma,
One of my favourite quotes ever- “There is no friend as loyal as a book.” – Ernest Hemingway
When I am curled up in bed with a good book, warm blanket and Galaxy chocolate buttons, that quote always resonates. 😀
Have a good weekend.

Oh that’s a lovely quote.
Indeed a book is a very loyal friend any day any time.

I literally said “ooh la la”. I could envision a chic doughnut in my hand with a cup of coffee and a Simon Kernick book. Love it!

Oh the glorious experience of a bookworm! 😀😀. You surely capture the experiment except the chocolate part which I had to reluctantly forego when I had a terrible toothache.

I do love the second one, actually. I would like to know what the last experience was that made the narrator sit down… Thanks for your lovely lines this week 🙂

The experience… it was a deeply personal one.

In the 1st piece: You sound as if you have a smorgasbord of food before you when you describe the books but what’s even more luxurious than that is to read the books with donut and hot chocolate too. In the 2nd piece: it sounds like physically you want to be active but mentally, you want to bury your nose in a book and read a story. You force your body to corporate with your mind. Sometimes it is difficult to get the two to act together. Maybe reading on an exercise bike or treadmill?

Now that’s an idea but knowing myself it might not be a safe choice.
