Speed dating

My heart turned yellow when you said hello, I was ready to go.

Your lips turned red and so did my floor, generous imprints from my lips and veins.

My heart turned blue when you slammed my head in the wall, Life was over with a bang.

Fixing adventures.

“So are you going to answer my question, and don’t say I don’t want to know, cos if I didn’t I won’t be asking?”

“Fine, I got into fixing tattoos because I wanted to erase my dad’s tattoos, he said they reminded him of all his adventures, so I thought if I took them off he would stay and have new adventures with me, told you it was lame, happy now?”

“It was a sweet thought, not lame at all, how about we start our own adventure?”

More than a bargain

They signed the deal in a darkened room deep within his house, a trade bound by time but not space.

‘I will be back to collect my dues when the time agreed is come, make no mistake about it.’

‘And I’ll hold up my end of the agreement have no fears, whats more I’ll add a gift, my victims shall comprise of everyone who falsely blames their misfortune on you.’  Snarled Faust.

Tumultuous night

Luminous cracks rent the troposphere,

for a second time tonight the earth is charged with venomous steps

a thunder of innocent blood roars for peace.

Arrggghhh! What were they playing at now?

They were wrecking havoc to his water bed, it rocked too much for his aging back.

‘Hades! Zeus! Please take your power tussles far from my shores or else …’

Flaming rain

The rain did nothing to dowse the growing flames, each drop burning a hole in my clothes.

With nothing to hide, no layers beneath, I charred from embarrassment before my handsome date.

Tomorrows weather forecast: grey clouds with lots of hot spots stay away from your phone.

Beyond I

I have traveled far and wide, across the fields and back.

I have seen them come and go; cows, sheep, fodder, weed, metallic monsters with gigantic teeth and vibrating footsteps, all traipsing across the same field with a different mission .

Not one of great speed nor intimidating size, I live for every moment, happy for a niche that is all mine, thankful that there is much more beyond the trees, bigger and greater than I.

Life’s ferry.

For every rainbow, rain-clouds have to yield.

For every restoration, raw wounds have to yield.

For every reward, rigour must be yoked,

the F.E.R.R.Y leaves the bay full, it returns empty,  it leaves empty, it returns full, such is the cycle sunset to sun down.

Faulty options

It was the first time, and it won’t be the last time someone advised a career change.

“Have you tried basketball, modelling, marketing? I honestly can’t see your future as a construction site worker.”

It was the first time, and it won’t be the last time she smiled, happy to follow a path set by her core, and not her shell.
