Impressions

“Richard dear, come over and have a look, do you think this is an appropriate attire for meeting the other guests on board?”

“Meeting the other guests? Gertrude we aren’t ‘meeting’ the other guests, we are just going for dinner. It’s not some sort of dinner party or date.”

Rolling her eyes heavenwards “It amazes me how an executive manager like your self can be so simple minded.”

Looking out the window his smile slowly turned to a grimace and then a grin, only his darling Gertrude could make an insult sound almost like a compliment.

Stopping only to pull out another outfit from her luggage she carried on, “I mean we could be dining with a chief executive of some large corporation or even the queens nephew, one never knows but one has to be on their best.”

Richard rolled his eyes.

  1. Funny…people have different ideas of what is appropriate. Now days, you wear just about anything you want….within reason, unless it is some type of formal event , however, it is nice to stop and think about it before just choosing your favorite thing to wear. I guess they are not on the same page with this one! 🙂

  2. Gertrude evidently has aspirations of grandeur, even if Richard hasn’t! It’s a good job he sees her pushiness as endearing. But in her mind, it’s vital to make a good impression on every new acquaintance … just in case! Nicely written, Chioma. 🙂
