Standing by the door “this is the last room in the palace, it is rumoured to be the kings most treasured room.”
Walking through he continued “as you can see it is different from the previous rooms, filled with colour, crystals, scented leaves, a fountain etc.”
“One would expect the room to be filled with music, however records show the only sound allowed was the trickling of water from the fountain. The room was constantly redecorated to reflect the blessing of each season in the year.”
“To what end?”
“It was believed to infuse the King with inner strength.”

I wonder if it did? Sometimes the belief that it will is enough.

It sounds like a very soothing room and probably did wonders for the king’s mental health. I’d prefer the tinkling of water to music too, I think.

I like the sound of water trickling in a stream. But the sound of a leaking faucet makes me ….

Dear Chioma,
To me it sounds like the king was a wise man who took the time to rest and meditate. Nicely done.

Nice description, you took us into the room and at the end of it all, the sound of a stream flowing cannot be beaten and is all we need.
