“Not knowing what to expect, he made his way into the dark of the forest.”
He had to find it; not because father would be angry, but because each one was a woven seam in his life story.
They followed him everywhere he went, soaked in the sun under the soothing sounds of his harp.
When nightfall approached and they made it home to their stalls, the chorused sound of goodnight could be heard from miles as they bleated in unison ‘Baaaggg ooobaaag babnaight’.
Although he suspected he heard goodnight as a result of his body slowly drifting into slumber from counting them one after the other prior to locking the barn.
No! He had to get lambkin blue back.
Today he would pit his hunting skills against the midnight crying dog of the jungle; he would save lambkin blue yet again from the clutches of death no matter the odds or his name would cease to be David the shepherd.
