Stormy night

Business has been slow today: what with all the rain I wasn’t surprised. There had been the odd one or two customers, nothing worth recording in the accounts, but it still has to be done.

A pack of cigarettes.

Two cans of energy drink.

A shovel and roll of trash-bags ….

‘A shovel, gloves and  a roll of trash-bags.’ Why would anyone buy outdoor tools on such  a miserable night: surely they can’t be gardening in this weather.

Maybe he was going to … Naa such things don’t happen here and he did seem normal. Shaking my head, I need a break from detective novels.

In response to Friday fictioneers writing challenge hosted by Rochelle.  The picture was provided by Rochelle and the task is to write a 100 words story inspired by it. Thanks Rochelle for hosting it, see you next week.

  1. Wonderful mysterious story. I honed in on the line, “Naa, such things don’t happen here and he does seem normal.” A lot of killers are missed because of this thinking. Guess I have been reading too many detective novels too. LOL!

    1. What! He just wants to clear the garden, his wife has been nagging him about it. And tonight when she decided they should have some ‘soul to soul discussion’he thought it was the right time to do the gardening. 😉
