Solaroid.

“Captain the parcel has been delivered.”

” Any problems on board?”

“No. No one suspected a thing.”

“Good, we’ll make the final transfer tonight, make sure everything is in position.”

My five feet six inches frame rarely posed a challenge, but trying to stay still whilst battling grave disappoint at my present discovery was making the vent a difficult place to hide. Today, I realised my worst fear: my public legend turned out to be my worst nightmare. Regardless, speed was of the essence; there was no room for sentiment. Tonight I -Solaroid would take on my worst villain.

“Still writing your stupid comic,” he slammed his fist into the table, causing me to jump and him to smile.

“What do you care?”

Slumping on the bed nonchalantly “I don’t. Just re-checking your lack of a life outside my room.”

“It’s my room as well and I have a life: unlike you I prefer to spend it wisely.”

“Care to repeat that,” sitting up, his face a menacing mask.

  1. I like your take to the prompt. I’m trying to figure out how a big ship fits in..? Was the parcel delivered by ship? Wonderful story and I like the twist that he was writing a comic. LOL! His brother certainly isn’t very supportive but that’s siblings for you. Great story and thank you for your participation!

  2. Thanks Joy! And yes the parcel was delivered by ship. I kind of went of base a bit but this story just got stuck in my head when I saw the prompt. Thank you for hosting the challenge.
