“What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” said Edgar.

“Save your threats for someone who scares easily and the general isn’t the first bug to fall into my tangled web as you put it,” replied Bernice.

“That might well be true, but your biggest mistake was creating a rift between the General and his daughter. Mark my words you will pay for that if it’s the last thing I do,” Edgar replied

“Do try Edgar, please do try. It has been a while since I had a worthy opponent to sharpen my claws,” Edgar left the room, on the heels of her jeering laughter.

Edgar was right since the Taylor incidence the general hadn’t been quite so taken with her, it was high time she fixed that. As for Edgar his mishap would leave no survivors; no one would take the prize from her now she was so close.

Now to prepare the seduction scheme….
