Her life ebbed away with every passing second.

How had this happened to her?

She was descending into the black eternal hole on a night when couples celebrated new life. It was ironic that her “smart” emotional choice had proved deadly.

He sat calmly beside her, a champagne flute in his hand, to an outsider it would seem he was watching over her lovingly.

Alas! That was far from true.

He was simply waiting for her last breath to start his new life as the wealthy widower of Windsor estate.

Thanks to the weather nothing has interrupted his plans.

  1. I’m a bit confused about the line, “to start his life as the wealthy widow of Windsor Estate”. If the man’s wife dies, he becomes a widower. A widow is a woman whose husband has died. Otherwise, a good and chilling story about a heartless and calculating man.
